OUR ISSUES IN THE SCOVA MEETING

Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies met on 28-6-2016.The Minister for Personnel and Pension Dr Jitendra Singh attended it for few minutes only. Com. K B Krishna Rao of Karnataka P&T Pensioners Association and Com. D Balasubramanian of Chennai based Federation of Central Pensioners raised our cases in the said meeting:
78.2%: Secretary, Pension informed that a favourable Cabinet Note is submitted to Cabinet on 78.2% case for BSNL retirees.
Pension Anomaly: DoT representative assured that this case would be settled within one month. It was pointed out that several times such assurances were given but not kept up. Then DoT Representative assured again that this time it would be definitely done.
BSNL NOTIFIED THE RECRUITMENT OF 2700 Junior Engineers (TTAs) from OPEN MARKET.

Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has notified that the 28th Meeting of Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies (SCOVA) will be held under the chairmanship of Minister of State ( Personnel and Pension) at 11 AM on 27-06-2016 in New Delhi.
5th YEAR ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING AT COIMBATORE

As decided in our EXECUTIVE MEETING held on 13.04.2106 at Hotel Kanchi, Chennai, the next (i.e. 5th AGM) ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING/Conference and the 6th Year Get-Together Function of our ASSOCIATION will be held on 11.09.2016 at "HOTEL VIJAI PARADISE",NSR Road, Sai Baba Colony, COIMBATORE-11. Invitation will follow.
As desired by most of our members during the Executive Meeting held on 13.04.2016 at Chennai, "ONE DAY" picnic program also arranged on 12.09.2016 at their OWN COST. Those who are desirous of availing the opportunity may enlist their name. The details of "PICNIC" will be posted separately.
Further, the "OUT-STATION" Members are requested to Book their Train or Bus Tickets well in advance accordingly.

THE FINAL FAIR COPY OF CABINET NOTE ON 78.2% AFTER ADDING NECESSARY MODIFICATION/CORRECTION AS SUGGESTED BY CABINET SECRETARIAT AND PMO OFFICE ALONG WITH HINDI TRANSLATION HAS FINALLY BEEN SENT TO CABINET SECRETARIAT TODAY .
CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES TO GO ON INDEFINITE STRIKE

SECRETARY, OF NATIONAL JOINT ACTION COUNCIL OF CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES HAS WRITTEN A LETTER TO THE PRIME MINISTER ON 14TH JUNE 2016 STATING THAT THE ACTION COUNCIL IS FIRM ON THEIR DECISION TO GO ON INDEFINITE STRIKE FROM 11TH JULY 2016 BECAUSE ALL THE PLEAS OF THE CENTRAL STAFF HAVE GONE TO DEAF EARS.
Some of the demands in the charter pertain to pension.They are:
(a) Parity between the past and present pensioners to be brought about on the basis of the 7th CPC recommendations with the modification that basis of computation to be the pay level of the post / grade/ scale of pay from which one retired; whichever is beneficial.
(b) Pension to be 60% of the last pay drawn in the case of all eligible persons who have completed the requisite number of years of service.
(c) The family pension to be 50% of the last pay drawn.
(d) Enhance the pension and family pension by 5% after every five years
(e) Commuted value of pension to be restored after 10 years or attaining the age of 70, whichever is earlier. Gratuity calculation to be on the basis of 25 days in the month as against 30 days as per the Gratuity Act.
(f) Fixed medical allowance for those pensioners not covered by CGHS and REHS to be increased to Rs. 2000 p.m.
(g) Provide one increment on the last day in service if the concerned employee has completed six months or more from the date of grant of last increment.
(h) Exclude the Central Government employees from the ambit of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and extend the defined benefit pension scheme to all those recruited after 1.1.2004.
