ABOUT DOT - BSNL CEPA
COIMBATORE known as Manchester of South India has witnessed so many historical events. This famous city is also witnessed the birth of our Pensioners Association. This event took place in the glorious First Civil and Electrical wing FRIENDS "Get-Together" function , which was arranged by Shri S.Balakrishnan and Shri K.R.Palanisamy on 11th February 2011 at Hotel Vijay Paradise, Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore in a grand manner.
The Function was a resounding success. About 75 members were enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the meeting by sharing their "GOLDEN MEMORIES'. Shri V.S. Venkatraman in his speech, emphasized the need for a separate pensioners association, exclusively for catering the needs of Civil, Electrical & Architect Wing Pensioners, which was overwhelmingly welcomed by the gathering. In this connection Shri S.Balakrishnan was nominated as Convener to form the Pensioners' Association.
Accordingly, Shri S.Balakrishnan toured all parts of Tamil Nadu to enlist Pensioners as Members of the association. He also arranged meetings on 10.03.2011, 24.11.2011 at Chennai and 01.12.2011 at Coimbatore and as per the understanding arrived in the meetings, the Office bearers of the Association was nominated. The name of the Association was decided initially as "BSNL Civil/Electrical Wing Pensioners' Association “ ( subsequently amended as “DOT & BSNL CIVIL/ELECTRICAL WING PENSIONERS’ ASSOCIATION) with its Head Quarters at Coimbatore. Accordingly, the Association was Registered in the year 2012 under the Societies Act, Tamil Nadu with Registration Number is 18/2012. Our Association is also Affiliated to "All India Federations of Pensioners' Association, Chennai vide Registration No.710 . This new organisation was established without any political/regional/cadre/caste bias.
The Office Bearers of our Association have rendered valuable services for Strengthening of our Organization under the Dynamic Leadership of SHRI S.Kadirvelan , President. The first Annual General Meeting of the Association was held on 22-09-2012 at Hotel Vijay Paradise, Sai Baba Colony, Coimbatore.11. The Association was started with the membership of 25, has increased many fold.
This Pensioners Association invites all pensioners who had worked in the Civil /Electrical Wing in any parts of the country (including Family Pensioners) to enroll as member and strengthen the organization .
